Prop 36 Program Certification Standards (03-06-01)
One of the key issues in the successful implementation of California's
Proposition 36 what criteria will be used to select qualified treatment
providers. The act defines the terms "drug treatment program" or
"drug treatment to mean a licensed and/or certified community drug
treatment program. (Section 4: 1210 B.). The most common
interpretation of this requirement is that in order to qualify for funds under
Prop 36 programs need to be licensed by the State of California as an Alcohol or
Drug Treatment Provider. These standards can be accessed by going to the
