Prop 36 Program Certification Standards (03-06-01)

One of the key issues in the successful implementation of California's Proposition 36 what criteria will be used to select qualified treatment providers.  The act defines the terms "drug treatment program" or "drug treatment to mean a licensed and/or certified community drug treatment program.  (Section 4: 1210 B.).  The most common interpretation of this requirement is that in order to qualify for funds under Prop 36 programs need to be licensed by the State of California as an Alcohol or Drug Treatment Provider.  These standards can be accessed by going to the link below.  The standards are 53 pages long and you'll need Acrobat Reader to open it and print it out.
